Janet Karapetyan, the Director and founder of Janet's Montessori at Westlake, has over twenty years of experience working in pre-schools. An engineer-technologist by education, she worked in the printing and publishing industry for almost 30 years, after which she went back to school and received an A.A. in American Montessori. She dedicated herself to learning about better and more effective way of educating children. Her experience with sciences often led to finding unorthodox and effective solutions to seemingly impossible educational situations. In her teaching, she uses music, color, rhythm and movement in order to reach out to children with different styles of learning.
Janet is assisted full-time by a Teacher's Assistant, Olga. Olga finds a natural, easy approach to children. She is caring and gentle yet vigilant and assertive. She is a true asset to our school!
Besides Janet and Olga, the children are tended by visiting teachers of music, dance/movement, and Spanish.
We are CPR-trained!
